Speed Learning

Speed Learning events provide 'top tips' and practical ideas that you can take back to your school and try out in your classroom the next day.  The opportunity to talk through challenges, successes and aspirations, as well as exploring ideas for the longer term, and to enjoy networking with like-minded colleagues, mean that you leave the event buzzing with great ideas.

At Bidston Avenue, we have held a number of Speed Learning events, in association with SSAT, since 2013.  As well as 'generic' events with range of different ideas and topics covered, we have also hosted subject specific events to help schools introduce the new National Curriculum and support other subjects, such as MFL, for example.  Some of the topics/ideas covered have included using Lend Me Your Literacy to develop literacy across school, exciting science experiments to use in the classroom, maths of the day to use for active maths, iPad apps for learning, computing at KS1&2 and many more.

The video below explains SSAT's vision for developing CPD for schools.

SSAT Redesigning Schooling: The new professionalism

Only by investing in teachers can we build a world-class education system. This one-minute animation outlines SSAT's stance on how teachers can develop their own practice through collaborative approaches to continuous development, to shape and lead their own professional vision for education.
