Intent of our Early Years Curriculum

Our curriculum is planned following guidance from the DFE Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage, taking account of children’s individual needs and interests.  Opportunities are provided for children to meet the expectations laid out in the Early Years Outcomes and Development Matters non statutory guidance documents, encompassing the Early Learning Goals set out by the DFE.

In Foundation 2, we build on the skills already developed and follow routines that flow with the children’s needs, in preparation for their future years.  We develop parents as partners, recognising that parents are a child’s first educator and aiming to involve them in their child’s learning.  We provide a secure, enjoyable environment where each and every child feels valued.  We believe that children need to experience a wide range of first hand experiences and practical learning opportunities. We deliver the Prime and Specific Areas of Early Years Foundation Stage through carefully planned enhancements and differentiated challenges to engage learning, encourage an inquiring mind and curiosity, and to create a thirst for new experiences and knowledge.

Please see termly information for more details about the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.
