We have recently held Attendance Panels for some of our families.
We invite parents or carers to an attendance panel when we are concerned that a child has not satisfactorily attended school e.g. a child's attendance has fallen below or is near to 85% (government's persistent absence figure).
School attendance is a 'right' for all children of school age and it is a moral and legal obligation of a parent/carer to ensure that the child's right is upheld.
